Heritage Days

This past week, June 20-25 was the annual Heritage Days for Syracuse City. I am usually working Saturdays and do not get to see the parade, but since I am still on leave we were able to go as a family. We walked to the parade route and watched it with some friends from the ward. We had a great time and even got to see my grandma, sister, sister-in-law and nephew in the parade. They were walking for Operation Adopt a Ghost. It is an organization that sends letters and care packages to soldiers who deployed. It was so much fun to see them walking and seeing my cute nephew in his little wagon and camo gear.

"Hmm, what is this parade, my mom keeps talking about?"

After the parade we got Uncle Robert and headed over to a local park for the booths and carnival rides. Zack saw a stand that sold fried Twinkies and decided to try one. He said it was not as good as he thought and probably would not have another one. The booth also sold fried coke. Which I thought was interesting. It was a coke batter that was fried and then had ice cream and a bunch of other stuff with the ice cream and batter. I am not a coke fan so I did not try it, but maybe if I did I would have tried it .

The picture of Zack's Twinkie is at the top of the post, I accidentally deleted the post and did not want to redo the entire post.

Later that night the city had fireworks and we had debated about going to see them or staying home, since we can sometimes see a few from the deck. I also had been talking about how we could get on the roof and watch the fireworks, and silly me I should have known Zack would really do it. I had never, that I could remember, been on a roof and I defiantly had never been on ours especially at night. Zack and I decided to go get some frozen yogurt from YogurtStop and then hurried home to see the fireworks. Zack got the ladder out and put it on the deck then convinced me to get up there and watch the fireworks. We were able to see four different cities firework shows. It was an interesting experience and I might even do it again, we shall see.

Me on the roof,

trying not to think about having to climb back down, in the dark.

The weekend just got better, because to top it off we had most of our family over Sunday for a BBQ and some croquet. I did not take any pictures but we really had a nice time with everyone this past weekend. Summers are so much fun.

Visiting Family

We were able to spend some time in Idaho on Friday the 24th and visit with my dad, step-mom and two of my siblings. We had so much fun just relaxing and enjoying each others company. And of course everyone was so glad to see Warren again. Zack and Ben spent some time shooting the Starlings that have been terrorizing my Dad's house and they got 4 while we were there. I also shot a little, not at the birds just a can of beans, and I actually hit it, on the third try. I guess I am a bit out of practice or third times the charm. It was great to see you guys again. We love you and miss you already.

Da Da, Papa, Father, Dad, Daddy

Da Da, Papa, Father, Dad and Daddy all mean the same thing LOVE! I am so glad to have such a great partner and spouse to have by my side through this life and into the eternities. Zack is such a wonderful husband and a great father. He is so patient and has so much love to share, especially with Warren and me. I just love watching Zack take care of Warren and see them cuddling together. Warren also loves his Daddy so much. He loves sleeping on his Daddy's chest and will stare at him for long periods of time. Warren you are one lucky guy to have such a great Dad and role model.
Happy Father's Day Babe I hope it was wonderful!

I am so excited that Warren has 3 Grandpas around to look up to and learn from. Happy Father's Day Grandpa Lore, Grandpa Ludlow, and Grandpa McQuivey we love you all and hope you had a great day!

Zoo

Saturday June 18th our family along with Robert, Elizabeth and her friend Tasha headed to Hogle Zoo. The weather was nice about 80 with a slight breeze. We had so much fun walking around and seeing all the animals. I think my favorites were the giraffes and camels. I do not know why I loved the camels so much but I did, they were intriguing to me. As well as looking at animals Zack, Robert and I tried to count all the pregnant ladies we saw, since there were quite a few. We had a blast and I kept thinking how much fun it will be to take Warren to the zoo again when he is older and excited to see the animals.

SMILE!

This is the first smile I caught of Warren's on camera. He really started smiling a lot more this past weekend, and this smile was caught today (6-7-11). He is just so handsome and we love him so much.

Special Day!

On Sunday June 5th Warren was given a name and a blessing in our church. It was such a special day for us. Zack gave Warren a beautiful blessing and we had so many family members there to support us. Here are a few pictures of Warren with his grandparents and great-grandma that were able to come to the luncheon afterwards. Thank you all for your support and for helping us make this day so special for our family. We love you all so much!
