I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Ogden Temple Open House not just once but twice. Zack and I went with his some of the Ludlow's over Labor Day Weekend without Warren and then we were able to go with my family and some very close family friends the last day of the Open House. I love going to the temple, any temple to do work for the dead, learn about my Savior Jesus Christ and his church, my divine role as a daughter of God and how I can progress throughout eternity as well as to receive personal inspiration and have time away from the craziness that comes from this amazingly busy world we live in. But the Ogden Temple is my temple, it is a very special temple to me and I was so excited to be able to be back in that holy place. The Ogden Temple is so special and sacred to me because that is where my family became an eternal unit. That is where mine and Zack's and our posterity became a unit that can continue into the eternities and has the ability to extend beyond the grave. So when it was announced that the Ogden Temple was going to be torn down and rebuilt I was happy but sad. I was felt like a part of me was being lost. I loved the old Ogden Temple but I adore the new building. It is the most beautiful building I have been in. Other temples are beautiful as well but as Zack said, "I think Ogden is my new favorite temple" and I would have to agree with him. We were able to attend the open house with a friend who is not a member of my faith and he made a comment about how the architecture was perfect, nothing was out of place, and that is how the temple is. We can pattern our homes after the temple- I have a lot of work to do there, some days everything seems to be out of place. We can try to bring the reverence of the temple to our homes, they should be a place of peace and holiness, a place to free ourselves from the cares of the world, a place to learn to be more Christ-like and to teach our children of their Savior and their divine role. I am so grateful that I have temples nearby, I live less than 10 minutes from the Logan Temple and love being able to go there or drive by on my way home from work and feel of the peace that the temple brings.
