Time Flies

We have had such a fun, busy summer full of lots of change for our family. Shaunna graduated in April, got a job in May, in June we found out that Ramona, Shaunna's mom had stage 4 ovarian cancer, Ramona started treatment in July, we moved in August, had family in town from May to mid-July, in August Zack started back at Weber State changing his major to Elementary Education, Shaunna started working as a 6th grade teacher the end of August, all while going to Yellowstone twice, playing at the park and splash pads, going to Peach Days, Heritage Days, visiting family in Idaho, swimming at Willard Bay, a demolition derby, truck pull, family parties, playing with cousins celebrating birthdays and anniversaries and countless fun summer days and cool summer nights and other fun activities. It was a summer we will not soon forget. It was wonderful and full of many tender mercies, faith building experiences and fun mommy/son and family memories. I just should have taken more pictures. Here is a sample of some of our fun during the summer of 2012.
At Peach Days for Grandma McQuivey's birthday.
Warren learned how to open the dryer and loves to help with laundry.
Mommy's big helper.
We love playing at the park.
Our first truck pull. Zack and I went for his birthday. Long but fun!
Warren loves playing at splash pads. Even when the water is cold.
A demolition derby for our anniversary.
It was so much fun!

More splash pad fun.

Enjoying some precious time with Grandma McQuivey.

Sharing an ice cream in Virginia City Mt.

This is one summer I will not forget. Our family grew closer to each other, to our extended family and to the Lord. We were and still are being tried and tested, but we are finding joy through our trials and learning to smile and enjoy the ride. All things are possible through Christ, and boy have I felt his strength this summer. I still do not know what life will hold for us but I do know it is possible to smile when life is hard and enjoy the small moments, the tender mercies of life. I am happy to say that my mom is doing great. She had surgery today but the chemotherapy is and has worked wonders and she is staying strong. I have learned so much from her through this trial and am grateful for the precious moments that occur each day. Today just a few examples, reading to Warren, washing the dishes with Warren, having dinner~that I made~with Zack and Warren and getting to spend time with my mom and seeing her strength. These are the moments that help me appreciate the hard times and get through the working hours of the day. Life is good and this summer was unforgetable.

Wow! What a busy, fun summer! Warren is growing up so fast! He's such a cutie and I know how precious those times are spending it together. Sorry to hear about your Mom. Hope she is doing well. That would be so tough! She'll be in my thoughts and prayers. Best wishes to you all! Lots of hugs!

Warren is an incredibly cute kid! It looks like you had an incredibly memorable summer with him.

Your sixth graders are going to be so lucky to have you as a teacher!!! It seems weird, though, weren't we just 6th graders ourselves a very short while ago;o)

I will pray for your mom; she is sure lucky to have your love and support through this time!!!
