Trip to the Ranch

What do you get from a trip to the Ranch.......
  • 1 tank of gas and supplies for the day (most of which were not used because we were having too much fun to eat, just like when I was a kid)
  • 1 almost completed outhouse, painted on 3 sides a stunning color of grey!

  • 1 generator previously not working now in running order (it ran for at least 3 hours without stopping!)

  • 1 husband who has now been to the top and seen the property that the family owns and stayed for more than an hour (we never made it to the top when we cut down our Christmas tree and did not stay long because a snow storm was coming in, it was like December 12th)

  • 1 husband who is willing to go back (hurray!)

  • 1 long drive home to try and make it to church the next morning at 9 am (we left at 10:30 pm and got home around 1:30 am showered and feel asleep until 11:00 am, maybe we should have spent the night!)

  • 1 very happy dad, who loves his new outhouse!

  • 1 very excited little brother because he got to shoot some "cool guns", and one even knocked him over, (okay he was kneeling down so it was not that powerful!)

  • 1 close encounter with an Antelope at very high speeds

  • 1 deadly encounter with a bird (very sad)

  • 2 mines visited and explored!

  • 2 sets of clothes that smell like sage and dirt -aw the memories!

  • 2 very tired people

  • 1 missing camera -thus no pictures at this moment

  • 1 girl very attached to her camera hoping it is with her dad-silently crying at this moment

  • 1 day full of fun and full of memories and stories about your family and Grandpa Lore, and a better understanding of the beauty and feeling of this place.

  • 1 beautiful sunset

  • 1 amazing view of the moon coming over the mountains

  • 1 day we consider priceless!

Ahhh Shaunna! You've brought back alot of memories. Of course I don't recall any outhouse so that really sounds like an improvement. I remember the Spring flowers and the sunset over the pond and all the birds that would come flying in. Especially the loud blackbirds with the red on their wings. Hope you are doing well and find that camera. Being without one is like chopping off a hand!. Something is missing. Did your goldfish ever have babies?

They did have some more but our parent fish died so I think that is the end of fishy babies, at least for now. My dad is currently digging in his car of the camera. crossing my fingers!

Thanks. I turned that picture into sepia and then put a spotlight on it in our photoshop.
