My dad will often travel for work, and depending on where he is going
he can sometimes bring people along. He traveled quite a bit this
summer, and asked me if Warren and I wanted to tag along for one of his
trips. He was teaching on a reservation in California the week before
the 4th of July, and reserved a condo in Indio. It was one of the only
condos that had openings that week. My dad drove about an hour each way
to work, while we spent our mornings and evenings swimming in one of the
five pools at the resort. We learned a little too late about everything
the resort had to offer but had fun regardless. I choose not to drive
my dad to work, up the narrow, winding road with sheer cliffs on one
side so we just hung out and swam our little hearts out, and played a
little tennis. When the temperatures reached 110 degrees or so we
usually would head inside, watch some t.v., play games, read, and relax
until after dinner then it was back to the pool. I worked out each day,
and convinced Ben to work out with me, and he admitted that some of my
videos were a really good workout, even the yoga. Ben and Bekah were also amazing with Warren. They even took him to the pool one night for a while so I could have some down time. As you can tell from the pictures below Warren loved being with them. Along with being with family, Warren also met some kids while we were swimming. It was so much fun to see him getting to know other kids. He is such a friendly boy and was so kind to everyone he met.
It was such a
great trip and I was so glad to spend time with Ben, Bekah, and my dad.
I loved that Warren was building relationships with his family. I
always want him to know that he is loved, and part of a large group of
people who will help him, and always love him. I also feel that if you
know where you come from, that you are part of something bigger than
yourself, it can help through trials, and help you understand yourself. I
love learning about my ancestors and what they went through. They have
taught me so much even though I haven't meet all of them, and I learn so
much from my extended family, and want the same thing for Warren.

| This was the night we were supposed to be able to see a star that had not been seen for 2000 years. | |

|
 |
| The resort was gorgeous. |
 |
| Ben was good to help Warren practice what he had learned in swim lessons the week before. |
 |
| And, took him on the Lazy River. |
 |
| 3 little fish |
 |
| and some monkeys were found around the pools |
 |
| The resort even had it's own splash pad. The water was SO cold, which felt great because it was 110 degrees. I could stand in the cold water and not feel hot at all. Someday I want a splash pad in our backyard. |
 |
| Warren clearly enjoyed himself. |
 |
| Me and my little buddy |
 |
Bekah was also so good to carry Warren around, and play with him.
I think Ben also enjoyed the splash pad. |
